How to Make Tempe?

Tempe is one of nutritious and cheap food that you can eat anywhere. Even, most of Indonesian people, no matter their status they like tempe because tempe is popular food and it can be served with various recipes. For vegetarian, tempe also can be chosen for their daily food because tempe contains high protein that made from soybean.
Before we start making tempe, we must know what ingredients that are used to make it. The main ingredients are soybean and tempe yeast. In order to get delicious tempe, you are supposed to take high quality of soybean and do all of the procedures cleanly.

How to make tempe?
1. Soybean, 1/2 kg
2. Tempe yeast, 1/4 table spoon
3. Tapioca flour, 1/4 table spoon

1.  Wash the soybean until clean.Pour water into cooking pan.
2.  After boiled, pour the soybean into the boiled water for 10 minutes.
3.  Lift the cooking pan and keep soybean until the water warm in the cooking pan.
4.  Afterward, soak the soybean for 8 – 10 hours. This soaking has purpose to lower soybean’s acidity degree.
5.  After 8 – 10 hours, lift the soybean from the soybean and remove the skin of soybean until clean.
6.  Boil the soybean until the water releasing foam.
7. Lift the cooking pot and throw the left water inside until dry. Put it into container so that no water left in order to make soybean dry faster.
8.  After the soybean dry, replace it into a bowl. Pour tempe yeast and tapioca flour into the bowl. Stir the dough in order to unite.
9.  Take the dough of tempe into plastic and close the plastic tightly.
10  Stick the plastic by pin around 8 times to give air circulation
11. Store tempe in a warm place, or cover it with cloth or towel until 36 hours.
12. Tempe ready to be cooked.
