How to Make Semur Jengkol

Semur jengkol
Ingredients:
  1. Fresh jengkol, 500 gram (peeled)
  2. Water, 3 L
  3. Oil, 2 tablespoons
Mashed seasonings:
  1. Garlic, 5
  2. Red shallot, 3
  3. Candlenut, 3
  4. Cloves, 2
  5. Cinnamon, 3 cm
  6. Nutmeg, ¼
  7. Whole white pepper, ½ teaspoon
  8. Brown sugar, 20 gram
  9. Salt, 2 teaspoons
Directions to make semur jengkol
  1. Boil water. After that, boil jengkol for about 10 minutes.
  2. Throw the water and substitute with 1 L. Boil the water and then add jengkol. Boil it again.
  3. Do this until 2 – 3 times. Then, set aside the jengkol. Crushed the jengkol till you get flat shape.
  4. Fry mashed seasonings until you get good smell.
  5. Add jengkol and stir it well.
  6. Pour water, 250 ml and boil it with small flame.
  7. Cook semur jengkol until the broth thick and the seasonings absorbed.
  8. Remove it from stove.
  9. Semur jengkol is ready.

How to Make Rujak (Fruits Salad)

Rujak
Rujak is one of unique dish especially for you who never eat this dish. Probably it seems strange because you eat fruits with hot chili pepper and make your mouth burnt. Actually, rujak is one of dish that popular in Indonesia. 
You can use many fruits to make rujak, such as pineapple, rose water, cucumber, papaya, and mango. To make rujak, you need brown sugar to make delicious rujak sauce. And here is step how to make rujak.

Ingredients:
  1. Cucumber, 2 sticks (sliced thin and diagonally)
  2. Rose water, 100 gram (sliced become two)
  3. Whole pineapple, (get rid the skin and then sliced small)
  4. Mango, 1 (peeled and then sliced small)
Seasonings to make rujak sauce (mashed)
  1. Red hot chili pepper, 2
  2. Salt, 1/6 teaspoon
  3. Terasi or shrimp pasta, 1/6 teaspoon
  4. Brown sugar, 75 gram
  5. Sliced of cucumber, 3
  6. Tamarind water, 1 tablespoon
Direction to make rujak sauce
  1. Mash all of seasonings to make rujak sauce.
Preparations
  1. Put slice of fruit, mango, cucumber, rose water, and pineapple on the plate.
  2. Serve together with rujak sauce.
  3. Rujak is ready.

How to Make Rice Bamboo with Chicken

Rice bamboo
Rice bamboo is one of unique dish that you can try. Probably it sound strange for you but it will give you great sensation. You will taste delicious rice with other ingredients. It can be chopped of chicken, mushroom, carrot, or others. And here is how to make rice bamboo with chicken.

Ingredients:
  1. Rice, 500 gram (washed and then strained)
  2. Salt, ½ tablespoon
  3. Bay leaf, 3
  4. Lemon grass, 2 rods
  5. Coconut milk, 600 ml
  6. Red shallot, 6 (chopped finely)
  7. Broth block, 1 teaspoon
  8. Oil, 6 tablespoon
  9. Banana leaf, (used for wrapping)
Ingredients to make content of rice bamboo
  1. Chicken meat, 150 gram (chopped 2 x 2 x 2 cm)
  2. Small shrimp, 100 gram (washed and then fried)
  3. Garlic, 3 (chopped)
  4. Red hot chili pepper, 2 (chopped diagonally)
  5. Green hot chili pepper, 2 (chopped diagonally)
  6. Salt, 1 teaspoon
  7. Sugar, 1 teaspoon
  8. Water, 100 ml
  9. Broth block, 1 teaspoon
  10. Oil, 4 tablespoon
Complements:
  1. Fried tofu
  2. Fried chicken, spicy dish
  3. Bamboo, 15 cm (soaked in the water and then cleaned) or aluminum foil
Directions to make content of rice bamboo
  1. Prepare cooking pan and heat oil.
  2. Sauté garlic and then add green and red hot chili pepper. Stir it well
  3. Add chicken meat and stir it until the color changing.
  4. Pour water and cook it until thick and seasoning absorbed by chicken meat.
  5. Add the rest seasoning and stir it again. Remove and set aside.
Direction to make rice bamboo
  1. Heat oil and then fry red shallot.
  2. Pour coconut milk, bay leaf, lemon grass, salt, broth block and cook it until boiled.
  3. Add rice and stir it again.
  4. Let it cooked until coconut milk absorbed by rice then remove it.
  5. Steam rice for about 20 minutes or until done. Remove it.
  6. Take a sheet of banana leaf. Put rice and content of rice bamboo.
  7. Wrap it and lock the edge of banana leaf with a pin.
  8. Put the rice into bamboo. Then roast until it has good smell. Remove it.
  9. Rice bamboo is ready.

How to Make Siomay Easily

Siomay
Siomay is one of popular dish from Indonesia. It is served together by egg, potato, tofu, and peanuts sauce. If you want to try to make siomay, here is the easy way to make siomay.

Ingredients:
  1. Meat of mackerel fish, 300 gram (minced)
  2. Starch flour, 50 gram
  3. Broth of mackerel fish, 100 ml (boiled the bone of mackerel)
  4. Sesame oil, 1 tablespoon
  5. Egg, 1 (shaked)
  6. Leek, 1 stalk
  7. Garlic, 2 (minced)
  8. Salt, 1 teaspoon
  9. Sugar, ½ teaspoon
  10. White pepper, ½ teaspoon
Seasoning for peanut sauce
  1. Peanuts, 300 gram (roasted)
  2. Garlic, 4
  3. Hot chili pepper, 5
  4. Sugar, 1 tablespoon
  5. Salt, 1 tablespoon
  6. Cooked water, 100 ml
Complements:
  1. White tofu, 3 (steam for a while, chopped diagonally)
  2. Potato, 3 (steam, chopped quartered)
  3. Boiled egg, 1 (chopped quartered)
  4. Lime, 1 (sliced)
  5. Sweet soy sauce
  6. Spicy dish
Directions to make siomay
  1. Mix the meat of mackerel fish with broth of mackerel and mix it well.
  2. Add leek, garlic, sugar, white pepper, and sesame oil.
  3. Mix all of those dough until unite.
  4. You can make round shape for siomay and make it flat.
  5. After that, steam siomay for a while.
Directions to make peanuts sauce
  1. Minced peanuts then set aside.
  2. Fry hot chili pepper and garlic until withered. Remove it and then minced with sugar and salt.
  3. After that, mix with minced peanuts.
  4. Add water to make it thick.
Preparation of siomay
  1. Prepare a plate and then put siomay, tofu, potato and egg. Add sweet soy sauce and lime juice.
  2. Siomay is ready.

How to Make Pempek Kulit (Skin Pempek) From Palembang, Indonesia

Pempek skin
Pempek is one of popular dish from Palembang, Indonesia. And the original taste of pempek is so delicious and fresh, especially when you eat with complements like noodle, pickles, and the sauce of pempek. Here is the recipe how to make pempek kulit or skin pempek.

Ingredients:
  1. Mackerel, 1 kg (free from skin and thorn)
  2. Skin of fish, 250 gram (chopped smoothly)
  3. Baking soda, ½ teaspoon
  4. Ice water, 25 ml
  5. Starch flour, 500 gram
  6. Flour, 100 gram
  7. Salt, 2 teaspoons
  8. Oil, 500 ml
Sauce of pempek
Ingredients:
  1. Tamarind, 50 gram
  2. Palm sugar, 150 gram (sliced small)
  3. Water, 650 ml
Blended seasoning for sauce:
  1. Hot chili pepper, 10
  2. Garlic, 4
  3. Dried shrimp, 2 tablespoons (soak in the hot water until soft, strain and then blended)
How to make pempek sauce
  1. Boil tamarind, palm sugar and water in the medium flame. After soluble, remove and then filtered.
  2. Boil the sauce back with seasoning and cook it until done.
  3. It will be more delicious if you keep it in the refrigerator before you use if for your pempek.
How to make skin pempek
  1. Clean the skin of fish and then put into food processor or blender until soft.
  2. Blend the mackerel meat in the blender or food processor. Then, mix it with the soft skin of fish, starch flour, flour, and ice water. 
  3. Knead it well until unite. Add baking soda and keep stirring until the dough of pempek soft.
  4. Take little bit of dough then form it round flat. You can form the pempek into round flat or triangle. Do this to all the dough of pempek.
  5. Steam the dough of pempek until done for about 25 minutes. Remove then set aside.
  6. Fry the steamed of pempek into frying pan until the color changing to brown.
  7. Skin pempek is ready to be eaten.
  8. You can eat pempek kulit or skin pempek with sauce pempek, slice of cucumber, and noodle.

How to Cook Crispy Fried Tempe

It is not difficult to process tempe because most of people can make it. It is pretty simple, even for amateur cook will be able to cook crispy fried tempe. And as popular food from Indonesia, you can taste one of delicious dish that is become well known in the world. Besides it is delicious, tempe also contains high protein. So, if you have tempe at home and do not know how to cook, you can try this recipe and let anyone taste your crispy fried tempe. Although there are many recipes how to make fried tempe, but you can create your own version.

Ingredients:
  1. Tempe, 200 gram (slice it 5 mm)
  2. Flour, 200 gram
  3. Leeks, 1 (slice it)
  4. Rice flour, 3 tablespoon
  5. Oil, 300 ml

Blended seasoning
  1. Salt, ½ teaspoon
  2. Garlic, 3
  3. Onion, 1
  4. Coriander, ½ teaspoon
  5. Water, 150 ml

How to make crispy fried tempe:
  1. Mix flour, rice flour, blended seasoning, and leeks.
  2. Pour water slowly while stirring the dough of seasoning.
  3. Put the slice of tempe into the dough and turn it side by side.
  4. Pour the oil into frying pan and fry the tempe with medium flame
  5. Lift the tempe after the color of tempe brown to yellow.
  6. The crispy fried tempe is ready to be served.
